The internet's childhood is ruined as images of upcoming horror film 'Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey' surface online
With A.A. Milne's beloved children's book Winnie the Pooh entering public domain, an upcoming horror film titled Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey made rounds online, and the internet's childhood is ruined.
The film, directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, takes Winnie the Pooh down a more gruesome path. Instead of his usual cuddly form, Pooh looks more monstrous and sinister—like a man-bear hybrid—in first-look photos. This version of the character is not related to Disney's Pooh.
There aren't any plot details online yet, but the movie's IMDB page says it will be a "horror retelling of the famous legend of Winnie the Pooh." It is unknown if other characters from the Hundred Acre Wood will also be featured in it, but so far, it looks like Piglet will be in the movie, too.
Earlier in January, Milne's Winnie the Pooh characters, except for Tigger, entered the public domain which means anyone can create their original iterations of Pooh and include them in any creative work.
On Twitter, users are bewildered by the grisly take on Winnie the Pooh.
