Are you an aspiring skater who dreams to hit the ice? Then this is your chance to learn from the best for free!

Organized by Philippine Skating Union, SM Skating invites you to join the Free Skate Classes this October and get the chance to be coached by three-time Canadian Olympic Champion Jonathan Guilmette.

These limited-time classes will run on October 8, 9, 15, and 16 at the SM Megamall Ice Skating rink.

All skate squads aged between 5-15 years old are welcome and entitled to one (1) free 1-hour skating lesson for every purchase of any SM Skating pass within the promo period which includes one 2-hour pass and one (1) day pass. The purchased skating pass from the SM Skating branch must also be used on the same day it was bought. The promo period is extended until October 30.

You may get to score free merchandise by Milo Philippines and discounted class packages if you enroll on the same day. Just bring a valid ID or a photocopy of the birth certificate to be presented at the counter upon purchase of the pass to avail for the free class.

The free skate class initiative was successful with over 400 participants across SM Skating branches nationwide last September.

“We're mainly doing this as part of our grassroots effort to promote awareness for the sport,” says Philippine Skating Union President, Nikki Cheng.

“Many in the Philippines are aware of figure skating, but for some, it may be the first time for them to hear of speed skating! We're so glad that we are able to increase awareness for this branch of ice skating with Jonathan,” she added.

Guilmette is a gold and silver medalist winner in the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics who has been conducting a two-week intensive training camp for the country’s local short-track speed skaters.
