Vice Ganda turns emotional after ‘Mini Ms. U’ contestant recites a touching poem
Vice Ganda and other Its Showtime hosts turned emotional during the Aug. 18 episode of the noontime show when a Mini Miss U contestant delivered a touching poem about the show.
Eury Eleandre Villena from Tondo, Manila called the hosts as "tagapagtanggol ng kasiyahan" and described how they make people smile and teach valuable lessons.
Her poem goes:
"Noong unang panahon, mayroong tagapagtanggol ng kasiyahan.
Sila ay sina Meme Vice, Ate Anne, Ate Kim, Kuya Vhong, Ate Karylle, at marami pang iba.
Pumunta sila sa isang bayan, agaw na kapansin-pansin ang kalungkutan.
Agad na ginamit ni Meme Vice ang kanyang super power sa pagsasalita at pagpapatawa.
Nainggit si Ate Anne at ginamit niya ang kanyang bibig sa pagkanta.
Sumunod si Ate Karylle, na may bumibirit-birit pa.
Sayaw ni Ate Kim, tumambling si Kuya Vhong, sumunod si Kuya Jhong
Nagpalakpakan ang lahat at napalitan ang kalungkutan ng kasiyahan.
At simula noon tinawag na silang, Its Showtime."
Vice was moved to tears and lauded the 6-year-old contestant.
“Ang ganda ng pagkakakilala niya sa pamilyang ito—walang bahid, ang ganda,” the comedian told Eury. "Thank you, Eury. I love you; we love you. Lagi mong iisipin ‘yan kahit saan ka makapunta—maraming nagmamahal sa’yo,” she added.
The host, in turn, delivered an impromptu poem about Eury's presence, whom she described as a delight to the show.
“May mga pagkakataon minsan [na] malulungkot ka. Kaya ka nalulungkot kasi nakakalimutan mo na, ‘Ay, may nagmamahal pala sa akin.’ Kaya kailangan lagi mong maalala na may mga nagmamahal sa iyo, mga magulang mo at kami,” Vice said before he burst into tears and hugged the kid.
The emotional conversation continued as the two kept hugging each other.
“I love you, too, Meme. Palagi kitang iisipin… Masaya ako na kasama kita ngayon,” said the crying Eury.
“Pag nalulungkot ako, iisipin ko lagi mahal mo ako,” the comedian said in response. “Masayang-masaya ako ‘pag kasama kayo, kaya minsan nalulungkot ako kasi natatakot ako na baka hindi ko na kayo makasama. Kaya ngayon na may pagkakataon ako na makasama kayo, gusto ko lang maging masaya, at masaya ako na masaya ka,” Vice replied.
The other hosts, who were also tearing up in their seats, went to the stage for a group hug.
"Grabe yung dinala mo sa amin ngayon Eury. Mula sa tula mo, sa mga sinasabi mo, parang hindi ka six-year-old," Vhong Navarro said. "Salamat dahil dumating ka dito sa amin sa It's Showtime," he added.
On July 31, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) summoned the producers of Its Showtime to appear and testify about the alleged indecent acts of hosts Vice Ganda and its real-life partner Ion Perez during the July 25 episode. The two were being affectionate, with Ion licking the icing off his fingers.
