Heads up PlayStation gamers! The complete edition of Horizon Zero Dawn which includes The Frozen Wilds add-on is currently free starting today as part of Sony’s Play at Home 2021 offerings.

The award-winning action role-playing game—developed by Guerilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment released for the PlayStation 4 in 2017—follows Aloy, a young hunter in a world overrun by machines, who sets out to uncover her past. The player uses ranged weapons, a spear, and stealth to combat mechanical creatures and other enemy forces, while a skill tree provides the player with new abilities and bonuses.

Back in March, PlayStation announced that they would be releasing 10 free games this Spring to help gamers make time spent at home a bit more fun while in quarantine.

They kicked off the campaign in March by releasing the fun action platformer Ratchet and Clank and a bunch of indie games for the PS4 and PSVR earlier this month including ABZÛ, Enter the Gungeon, Rez Infinite, Subnautica, and The Witness. Sony will also offer four PSVR titles for free: Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Moss, Thumper, and Paper Beast.

In case you still haven’t downloaded the latest batch of games yet, the selection will be available for free download only until April 22 8:00pm PT / April 23 04:00 BST / 05:00 CEST.

Horizon Zero Dawn will be available to download free starting April 19 8:00pm PT / April 20 04:00 BST / 05:00 CEST and May 14 8:00pm Pacific Time / May 15 04:00 BST / 05:00 CEST.

For those who haven’t played this stunning game yet, or haven’t had a chance to play the expansion, getting the game completely free of charge now is good timing with the highly anticipated sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, coming to the PS4 and PS5 this year.

Check out the trailer and official story details below.

In an era where machines roam the land and mankind is no longer the dominant species, a young hunter named Aloy embarks on a journey to discover her destiny. In a lush, post-apocalyptic world where nature has reclaimed the ruins of a forgotten civilization, pockets of humanity live on in primitive hunter-gatherer tribes. Their dominion over the new wilderness has been usurped by the machines–fearsome mechanical creatures of unknown origin.

Gamers also get the chance to expand the vibrant, post-apocalyptic world of Horizon Zero Dawn with the stunning new add-on The Frozen Wilds included in the Complete Edition.

In The Frozen Wilds, Aloy travels to the borderlands of the survivalist Banuk tribe to investigate a mysterious new machine threat. Only by enduring the harsh landscape and earning the respect of the Banuk, will Aloy gain the allies, abilities and knowledge she needs to uncover a secret from the past–and stop a threat to the future…

In their latest article on the PlayStation blog, Sony said that there’s still “more to come” for the Play at Home campaign this Spring. The initiative is slated to conclude sometime in June 2021.
