By SAAB LARIOSA Published Jul 01, 2021 8:40 pm

The Philippines will soon have its first local drag reality show, and it’s set to be hosted by none other than American-Filipino RuPaul's Drag Race contestant, Manila Luzon.

The news was announced by Cornerstone Entertainment, which recently welcomed Manila as their newest talent in June.

“Ang chika gusto n’yo raw ng drag cartel? We heard you, and we’re making sure na DRAGDAGULAN to!!” their post reads. “The first-ever drag reality show in the country is finally here! With one of the biggest and most stunning drag bosses, Manila Luzon!”

"Abangan ang Drag Den Philippines, crowning soon! Kami na ang lalapit mga ses, kapit lang kayo!"

Presented by Cornerstone Entertainment Inc. and Project 8 corner San Joaquin Projects, the show was actually teased by Manila as early as June 16 of this year.

When asked if she would like to see a Philippine version of Rupaul’s during an online press conference announcing her tie-up with Cornerstone, she replied. "Definitely, since RuPaul's Drag Race has become very popular in the United States, it is now becoming common for other countries to take up their own franchise of the show."

"I won't be surprised if the Philippines makes their own version. Let's cross our fingers."

Cornerstone Entertainment and Manila Luzon have yet to announce the series' premiere date and other details.
