After being crowned as Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2021, Katrina Dimaranan revealed that her pageant journey has been an “experience” of the lifetime” which “brought out the best” in her.

Taguig City’s Dimaranan took to social media to write a lengthy message about “healing and gratitude” to her supporters.

“I would not change one thing about my Miss Universe Philippines journey. It has tested me, challenged me, but ultimately brought out the best in me. I aimed for my ultimate dream, but achieving that dream was not part of His ultimate plan for me. And as they say ‘It’s not about the destination, but the journey,’” she said.

The beauty queen admitted that she was initially hurt when she failed to win the Miss Universe Philippines crown. However, she believes that “everything happens for a reason.”

“I may not know or understand what the reason is for this is yet, but I know in time I will. Just like many of you, I am also hurt, but the hurt I feel right now is part of the process and my joy of knowing I left my heart out on that stage and gave my absolute best, defeats that pain,” Dimaranan added.

Despite her Miss Universe Philippines Tourism finish, Dimaranan reminded her followers “to never give up on a dream” and stay “kind and grateful.”

The Taguig City representative also urged pageant fans and her followers to support Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Gomez who’s set to represent the country in the Miss Universe pageant in Israel.

“I can’t wait to see what else He has in store for me but I am ready and I am fearless,” Dimaranan said.

Prior to the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night, Dimaranan has always been considered a constant frontrunner by pageant fans and experts. She was the top pick of online magazine pageant sites Missosology and Sash Factor due to her “veteran smarts” and quick wit.

Cebu City’s Beatrice Luigi Gomez was named Miss Universe Philippines 2021 on the pageant’s coronation night on Sept. 30.

Dimaranan was also the first runner-up of Miss Supranational 2018, where she represented the US. She was also crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Tourism 2012.
