Will she or won’t she? Lovi Poe’s move to ABS-CBN not final yet

Last week, it was reported that Lovi Poe may possibly transfer from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN, after the run of her ongoing soap opera Owe My Love on the Kapuso Network.

She was even tagged as one of the possible actors to be part of the Kapamilya Network’s adaptation of the TV drama Doctor Foster, the source material of the popular Korean series The World of the Married.

But it seems like things are not yet set in stone for the long-time GMA-7 talent.

According to a report on Pilipino Star Ngayon, Lovi is currently being wooed by GMA-7 and has given the actress’ camp a counteroffer.

Negotiations for the 32-year-old actress’ contract renewal with GMA-7 are still ongoing between Lovi’s camp and the Kapuso Network, the report added.

Network transfers, of course, are commonplace in Philippine showbiz; just recently, long-time GMA-7 star Sunshine Dizon was reported to be moving to ABS-CBN as well.

But Lovi’s reported transfer is interesting, as she is one of the actresses who is reportedly among the top choices to play the mistress character in ABS-CBN’s Doctor Foster remake.

If she does decide to switch her network alliance, Lovi is joining the likes of Kris Bernal and Janine Gutierrez, among others—both home-grown talents of the network who have also moved to different TV stations amid the pandemic.
