After Rabiya’s viral stumble, Miss World PH 2021 Tracy Perez gracefully trips on stage twice

Tracy Maureen Perez is now making the rounds online as she gracefully tripped twice on the pageant stage: before she was named Miss World Philippines (MWP) 2021 and right after her coronation. This happened a few days after Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo’s viral stumble at this year’s MUPh stage.

The MWP final night lasted for nearly seven hours—this means that the candidates were in their heels for the whole duration, or even longer. While it may look like a piece of cake at first glance for the queens, instances like these show that it’s not as easy as it seems.

Even before the Cebuana was announced as the biggest winner of the night, a clip that has surfaced online shows her now-viral fall. She just laughed it off the second time around, stood back up like a true queen, and then took her first walk.

Netizens were quick to point out that the length of the coronation night might have made the candidates feel wiped out. They stood up for long hours, and the one we saw on television doesn’t include the time they spent in rehearsals and run-throughs.

A social media user can’t help but bring up Tracy and Rabiya’s falling incidents that took place in separate events.

Another one said that what matters is she’s the “last woman standing.”

“I really hope Tracy is okay,” a netizen tweeted.

Perez is set to represent the country in the 70th Miss World pageant, which will be held in December in Puerto Rico.
