Netflix announces lower subscription fees for Pinoy users: ‘Our biggest drop yet’

By Brooke Villanueva Published Feb 21, 2023 11:05 am

Good news, Pinoy Netflix users!

The streaming service announced that they have decided to make their subscription plans more affordable for Filipinos starting Feb. 21.

Basic plan users would have to pay P249 instead of P369 monthly, while Standard Plan holders would need to pay a monthly fee of P399 instead of P459.

The subscription costs for the Mobile Plan (P149/month) and Premium Plan (P549/month), however, will stay the same.

The updated subscription fees will reflect on the platform for new users who are looking to register for an account starting Feb. 21.

Current members, meanwhile, will receive an email or message on the app prior to the price drop in their accounts, depending on their billing cycle.

This comes after Netflix announced a password-sharing crackdown in January as executives revealed their aim to carry out their plan to convert "borrowers" into subscribers by the end of the first quarter.
