Following Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight debut in Matt Reeve’s The Batman, another actor is taking on a different version of The Caped Crusader in DC’s upcoming animated movie, DC League of Super-Pets.

In a new trailer, Warner Bros. Pictures has introduced The Matrix and John Wick actor Keanu Reeves as the voice under the iconic cape and cowl of Batman.

“So… you are a dog. I am the Batman,” Reeve says in the beginning of the new trailer as he tells Kevin Hart’s Ace the Bat-Hound why he’s not great with animals.

“Yeah, I’m not really great with people. Probably because of my traumatic ‘puppyhood,’” Hart replies.

We then see them talking about their tragic pasts, with Reeve's Batman recalling the death of his family while Hart’s Ace the Bat-Hound looks back on the moment he was taken from his family. But behind their tough facade, the duo ends up having a light moment together.

With Reeves' Batman debut, he now joins a roster of acclaimed voice actors behind the Dark Knight including Adam West, Jason O’Mara, Bruce Greenwood, Peter Miller, and Kevin Conroy, who portrayed the role of Bruce Wayne in Batman: The Animated Series.

Slated to hit theaters on May 20, 2022, DC League of Super-Pets also features Black Adam's Dwayne Johnson, who is lending his voice to Superman's loyal sidekick, Krypto the Superdog and will star alongside The Office alum John Krasinski’s Clark Kent.

Additional cast members include Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, Marc Maron, Thomas Middleditch, and Ben Schwartz.

Lyonne is voicing Flash's turtle, Merton while Luna is providing his voice to Green Lantern's squirrel, Chip. Bayer, meanwhile is playing the role of Wonder Woman's pig, PB.

DC League of Super-Pets sees Krypto taking the matter in his own paws after the Man of Steel and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped while attempting to defeat Lex Luthor.

But before taking on a mission to save their humans, Superman's good dog enlists a rag-tag shelter pack of Super-Pets to help him, which include a pig that can grow to cosmic sizes at will, a turtle that can move at super-fast speeds, and a squirrel that can shoot lightning from his hands.

Created by Otto Binder and Curt Swan, Krypto made its debut in 1955's Adventure Comics #210. In the story, the superpowered canine was initially used as a test subject for one of Jor-El's prototype rockets bound for Earth.

Although the rocket was accidentally knocked off-course and drifted through space, Krypto eventually landed on Earth and got reunited with his bestfriend, Kal-El. Even though the super pooch was only intended as a one-off character in the comics, Krypto inevitably charmed his way into the DC fandome and later became a regular member of Superboy's cast.

Written and directed by Jared Stern, Warner Bros. Pictures' DC League of Super-Pets is being produced by Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions, with Patricia Hicks, Stern, Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia attached as producers. John Requa, Glenn Ficarra and Nicholas Stoller, meanwhile, are executive producing.
