By Harold Lemon Tubiano Published Oct 13, 2022 5:01 pm

The late Queen Elizabeth, Britain's longest-reigning monarch, is being celebrated in a new comic book by TidalWave Comics released on October 12.

The story is part of the comic's "Tribute" series detailing the queen’s public and private life during her 70-year reign in the history of Britain. The publisher featured her historical coronation at age 25, the monarch family, and milestones as a queen.

TidalWave's Tribute series delves into the history of certain newsworthy figures and explores what shaped them.

"Queen Elizabeth II is one of the most iconic women post-World War II. She became Queen at 25, starting the longest reign of any monarch in history at seventy years and 214 days. Yet, few appreciate the richness and seriousness of Queen Elizabeth's role, seeing her merely as some figurehead of the Commonwealth of Nations, which currently numbers 53 countries. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren ensure the continuation of the House of Windsor for generations. Explore her life in this touching tribute to her life and work," the official synopsis for the comics reads.

In an interview with Reuters, Co-writer Michael Frizell said that the series started with the royal beekeeper announcing the death of their queen in the palace hive which best portrays the importance of the queen's life across the world.

“I wanted to start small — the legend of the bees — and end large — the funeral viewed by millions worldwide, Frizell told in a statement.

The comic book biography book was written by John Blundell, Michael L. Frizell and illustrated by Pablo Martinena, Luciano Kars and Ernesto Lovera. The 30-page  glossy is available in digital and physical formats. Copies are now out worldwide on Amazon.

Queen Elizabeth II died at the age 96 on Sept. 8 due to old age, making her the longest-serving monarch in British history. She bid farewell to rest alongside her husband Prince Philip of Edinburgh.
