Marvel has confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy’s Peter Quill aka Star-Lord is bisexual.

In the latest run of Al Ewing’s Guardians of the Galaxy comic titled “I Shall Make You a Star-Lord”, Quill finds himself on a planet called Morinus, where he meets male and female humanoid aliens Mors and Aradia.

A year into their journey through the Twelve Houses of Morinus, the pair of humanoids, who grew fond of the space adventurer, tried to offer themselves to Quill, to which he initially declined because of Gamora.

“Our fire is yours, our food is yours… our bond should be yours too. You’ve become part of us, Peter. Part of our togetherness. And togetherness is a thing to share,” Aradia tells Quill.

“That’s your way, and I appreciate that… I appreciate you both… but in my world, the culture’s different,” Quill replies. “There’s someone there who’s… well, she’s the someone for me. And I still haven’t given up on getting back.”

After twelve years of being trapped on Morinus, however, Quill appeared to have given up on his desperate attempt to return home and decided to enter a polyamorous relationship with Aradia and Mors.

“It’s been over a decade. Time to accept the truth… Morinus is my home. You’re my home,” Quill tells the pair while taking a bath together in a ceremonial temple. “Thanks for accepting me, guys.”

“Congratulations, Peter Quill. The you-that-was is over… you’re newborn and ready to learn our ways,” Mors replies.

The issue reveals that Quill’s relationship with the pair lasted for almost 150 years.

It’s not yet known if the hero’s sexuality will be adapted to the Marvel Cinematic Universe including upcoming films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Thor: Love and Thunder

Chris Pratt has portrayed Quill’s character in several MCU films including 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy and 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
