Director Neil Druckmann has announced that The Last of Us television series has wrapped up filming.

The Mandalorian's Pedo Pascal stars as Joel alongside Game of Thrones' Bella Ramsey who plays Ellie in the upcoming live-action series based on the apocalyptic video game of the same name from Naughty Dog.

Druckmann posted on Twitter Tuesday: "Alas... my time in Canada has come to an end. To the best TV crew in the world, thank you for your incredible work, your passion, and for making me feel so welcome! I will miss you terribly!"

"Excited to return to Naughty Dog (and some warmer weather!)" he added.

Druckman served as co-writer and director for some episodes of the series adaptation of the hit 2013 action-adventure video game from Naughty Dog, the same studio behind the Uncharted series.

The first official photo was released last September showing Joel and Ellie in costume from the back.

Unofficial on-the-set shots have since leaked online, showing in-costume shots of the characters as well as cordyceps-infested sets.

The first season of The Last of Us is expected to have 10 episodes. There's still no official word yet on the series release date.
