Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill set to return in 'Enola Holmes' sequel
The sequel is afoot!
Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister is making a comeback in Enola Holmes 2. Netflix announced Friday (May 14) that the second film is in development. Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill are set to return in the sequel to last year’s adventure that focused on the famous detective’s rebellious teenage sister.
While no official details have been given regarding the new movie, including the release date on the streaming service, many of the key figures from the first film are teaming up once again.
Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown will reprise her role as Enola, while Superman star Henry Cavill will step back in the shoes of ace detective Sherlock Holmes in the sequel to last year's hit Netflix film.
The films are based on a series of young adult novels by Nancy Springer about Sherlock Holmes’ brilliant sister. The six-book series has been nominated for multiple Edgar Awards.
Netflix released a short teaser for Enola Holmes 2 on social media to announce the news.

Director Harry Bradbeer and writer Jack Thorne are also on board for the film’s second chapter. The new movie will be produced by Legendary “in partnership with Netflix.”
“I can’t wait to collaborate again with my ‘Enola Holmes’ family,” Brown said, announcing the franchise’s new installment. “Enola holds a special place in my heart — she’s strong, fearless, intelligent and brave. I look forward to fans seeing how her journey continues!”
Brown shared the news on her Instagram account Friday with a set photo from the first film. The 17-year-old actress produced the first Enola Holmes film and is set to produce the sequel along with her sister Paige Brown under their PCMA Productions banner.
The first Enola Holmes film was originally planned for a theatrical release by Warner Bros. Pictures, but the distribution rights were picked up by Netflix due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Enola Holmes was released instead on September 23, 2020 on the streamer and the film received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised Brown's performance.
In the first 28 days after its release last September, Netflix estimated that 76 million households tuned into the film.
