BTS at SoFi Stadium in LA: Some of the major highlights of their euphoric return to the live stage

Seeing BTS in the flesh is always a dream come true. However, witnessing them perform after almost a two-year lockdown is a different kind of euphoria.

It’s widely known that BTS has some of the most dedicated fans around, however, the four-day “Permission To Dance On Stage” concert proved how superlative their fanbase has grown since the pandemic. Case in point: many fans flew from different parts of the world to watch the septet perform at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

Of course, no one is as ecstatic as performing live than BTS themselves. BTS’ leader RM hoped their concert is the beginning of a “new chapter” for the group.

“Going back on tour and on track, seeing all the fans and people finally in two years really made us feel like this really is the beginning of our new chapter... The past two years of the pandemic weren’t easy, not just for us but everyone, including the ARMYs, press, for everyone. But today, we’ll try to show how much we’ve grown, how much we’ve learned through this past two years,” RM said during the concert’s press conference

Even BTS themselves are unsure of the future. However, their four-day concert and infectious energy proved they’re hoping for the world to get better. As the four-day event comes to a close, let’s look back at some of the highlights of “Permission To Dance On Stage” in LA.

The live debut stage of Butter (feat. Megan Thee Stallion)

One of the biggest jaw-drop moments in the concert was Megan Thee Stallion’s unexpected cameo. The musical icons were originally scheduled to perform Butter remix at the American Music Awards (AMAs) 2021, but Stallion didn’t make it due to an “unexpected personal matter.”

Stallion’s surprice performance sent fans in a frenzy as they performed Butter remix together for the first time. It also showed their collab is a powerful combo we never knew we needed.

Where celebrities became fans

The BTS ARMY has always been diverse. The four-day concert, however, proved that even celebrities unleashed their inner fangirl for RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. (And why wouldn’t they?)

Singer-songwriter Halsey, who collaborated with the septet for Boy With Luv, brought out her inner ARMY as she joined the thousands of fans who cheered for BTS. She even brought her own lightstick as she sang along to the group’s biggest hits.

Arci Muñoz, who’s popular among local BTS fandoms, didn’t miss out on the group’s LA concert as well. One of her Instagram posts showed her screaming her heart out for BTS’ Jimin during DNA.

BTS going out of control—in a good way

It’s hard to deny BTS’ excitement during the four-day concert. After all, the group has always been open about their hardships during the pandemic (Life Goes On, anyone) where they couldn’t perform in front of their fans.

So, it’s no wonder the septet went out of control—in a good way. Aside from their all-out energy, one of the most surprising moments was hearing RM asking fans to “put your m*th*rf***ing hands up” during Idol. Even V didn’t hold back from saying “sorry” to the group and fans for cursing

Suga’s new ginger hairdo

One of the most unforgettable highlights was Suga looking fine in his new ginger hairdo. While the group’s lead rapper has always dyed his luscious locks in different shades, this might be one of his best looks yet.

Jin channels Squid Game

Close your eyes and replace the killer doll in Squid Game with Jin. It’s hard to imagine the “worldwide handsome” star to be creepy, right? Well, he made it happen.

Jin sent fans into hysterics when he imitated the iconic “Red Light, Green Light” portion in Squid Game—with pigtails and all. While it’s hard for him to look scary, perhaps this is a sign for him to pursue an acting career.

Jimin’s heartfelt speech in English

It’s not a BTS concert without one or two members giving out a heartfelt speech—this time, courtesy of Jimin. He poured out his heart to ARMYs in English. The speech was a tear-jerking moment since it’s filled with unrehearsed sincerity from the group themselves.

Imagine being RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook’s source of strength? This is too much for our hearts to handle.
