LISTEN: Pentatonix and Lea Salonga cover Jose Mari Chan's 'Christmas In Our Hearts'
It's a true Christmas crossover.
Pentatonix has tapped Asia's Songbird Lea Salonga to give a modern rendition of the country's iconic holiday song, Jose Mari Chan's Christmas In Our Hearts.
The collaboration is part of the American music group's Christmas album Holidays Around The World, which sees them teaming up with artists all over the world to share the spotlight on diverse December tunes.
The album also features pop star Meghan Trainor, Congolese gospel singer, and Lebanese artist Hiba Tawaji, among others.
In an Instagram post, Salonga couldn't help but gush over the recent collab and the impact of Christmas In Our Hearts in the Philippines.
"Yes, folks! This is happening! Had the most wonderful time recording this classic Filipino Christmas song with @ptxofficial!" Lea wrote. "And yes, fellow Pinoys, this is the Christmas In Our Hearts you think it is!"
Meanwhile, the Pentatonix and Lea Salonga Christmas In Our Hearts cover sees the 1990 song mixed with Pentatonix's unmistakable all-vocal sounds and Salonga's powerful voice to create something entirely new yet warm and familiar.
