The android science-fiction drama series Raised by Wolves is returning for a second season on HBO Max this coming Febr. 3, 2022.

The first two episodes of the HBO Max original series created by Prisoners writer Aaron Guzikowski—centered on two androids tasked with raising human children after the Earth was destroyed by a great war—were directed by Ridley Scott.

The visionary director behind Blade Runner and Alien is also returning as an executive producer for the show.

According to HBO Max: “In season two of ‘Raised by Wolves,’ Android partners Mother (Amanda Collin) and Father (Abubakar Salim), along with their brood of six human children, join a newly formed atheistic colony in Kepler 22 b’s mysterious tropical zone. But navigating this strange new society is only the start of their troubles as Mother’s ‘natural child’ threatens to drive what little remains of the human race to extinction.”

The original series stars Amanda Collin, Abubakar Salim, Winta McGrath, Niamh Algar, Travis Fimmel, Jordan Loughran, Felix Jamieson, and Ethan Hazzard.

Six new cast members join them in season 2, namely Peter Christoffersen as Cleaver, Selina Jones as Grandmother, Morgan Santo as Vrille, James Harkness as Tamerlane, Kim Engelbrecht as Decima, and Jennifer Saayeng as Nerva.

Raised by Wolves was renewed for a second season on Sept. 17, 2020, shortly after the first season arrived. The 10-episode first season was released weekly in batches of episodes (along with a companion podcast featuring Aaron Guzikowski). Production on the new season ran from March to August of this year in South Africa.

The trailer for season 2 explores the notion of androids becoming too human. HBO Max shared a first teaser trailer for the second season over the weekend, which you can check out below.
