Filipino audiences who missed out watching The Matrix Resurrections on the big screen due to pandemic restrictions will finally be able to watch it (legally) at home.

Following its release last January in local theaters, HBO has announced that The Matrix Resurrections will premiere on HBO GO in the Philippines starting Saturday, Feb. 26.

The Matrix Resurrections is the fourth installment in The Matrix franchise and marks the first Matrix movie in nearly two decades.

Lana Wachowski returned to produce, co-write and direct, while Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprised their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively.

Jada Pinkett Smith and Lambert Wilson also reprise their roles from previous films along with newcomers Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Set sixty years after 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions, the story follows Neo (Reeves), who lives a seemingly ordinary life as a video game developer troubled with distinguishing dreams from reality.

The Matrix Resurrections was released internationally in theaters and HBO Max last Dec. 22, but was only screened exclusively in Philippine cinemas last Jan. 12, 2022, and was not made available via HBO's local streaming service.

Filipino audiences can now start streaming The Matrix Resurrections from Feb. 26 on HBO GO.

In case you need a refresher on the decades-old franchise, all previous Matrix films are also available on HBO GO.
