Sex video used deepfake technology to make woman look like Maine Mendoza

A sex video recently circulated online with someone that looks like Maine Mendoza. The actress has denied she’s the woman in the video and said that even she was shocked at the resemblance.

Responding to a fan’s tweet, she said, “Wtf???? Sobrang kamukha ko pero hindi ako ito!”

Maine’s management team All Access To Artist, Inc. has issued a statement saying the video circulating online is fake and was digitally manipulated using deepfake technology.

Deepfake is when a person in an existing image or video is replaced with someone else’s likeness. Many deepfakes look and sound like the real thing. This technology is used in movies and TV shows. It is also used by hobbyists to make memes and funny videos by substituting celebrities’ faces with the original.

All Access continued in its statement, “Ms. Mendoza is not involved in the said video and neither does she participate in the making of pornographic and other explicit materials.”

The management company warned the public not to post, share or circulate the video. “We will not hesitate to take appropriate action against any person circulating the same. We intend to hold those individuals criminally and civilly liable.”

On Twitter, fans of Maine began using the hashtag #protectmainemendozaatallcost.

Rams David of All Acces earlier tweeted, “RA 10175 punishes content-related offenses such as cybersex, child pornography and libel which may be committed through a computer system. It also penalizes unsolicited commercial communication or content that advertises or sells products or services. #kulong.”
