Sony to stream PS5 digital showcase on Sept. 17

Sony recently announced that it will host another PlayStation 5 digital event on September 16 (September 17, 4:00 a.m. PST) to showcase some of the games that are coming to its highly-anticipated next-gen console.

The tech company said that the 40-minute virtual presentation will be streamed on Twitch and YouTube and will feature “updates on the latest titles from Worldwide Studios” and “world-class development partners."

Although the company mentioned that the showcase will focus on some of the games that will be released on PlayStation 5 at “launch (and beyond!),” there are speculations that Sony could potentially announce the price and release date of its next-gen console after Microsoft’s big reveal last week. Microsoft officially announced that the Xbox Series X will retail for $499 while the all-digital Xbox Series S will have a cheaper price tag of $299. Both consoles will hit store shelves on November 10.

Last June, Sony revealed the design of the PlayStation 5 along with some of the upcoming games that are coming to the highly-awaited next-gen console including Horizon Forbidden West, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Demon’s Souls, Gran Turismo 7, Sackboy A big Adventure, and Returnal.

Although there's no assurance that Sony will finally lay all of its cards on the table, it seems that the company's big reveal is quite imminent as the Holiday 2020 release window of its next-gen console is just around the corner.
