LOOK: Nesthy Petecio tops Twitter trending list after historic silver win
Twitter is the ideal place for bite-sized bursts of emotion—and with boxer Nesthy Petecio nabbing the Philippines' second medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, it's no surprise that she's risen to the Philippine trending list.
Nesthy nabbed the silver medal in the women's boxing final today, Aug. 3, against Japan's Sena Irie in a nail-biting stand-off. As the first Filipina boxer to earn an Olympic medal, there's a lot worth celebrating.

Aside from the congratulations, others are also defending that Nesthy didn't simply "settle" for the silver, as it took years of training and sacrifice to even reach the Tokyo Olympic ring.
Also I can understand the disappointment but using “settles” and “still” when describing Nesthy’s silver win is sort of invalidating her hardwork, talent and her difficult road to the podium. She WON that medal. She earned that podium finish. Be proud of the silver.
