Kevin Clark, most notably known as the kid drummer in School of Rock, died following a road accident on Thursday (Manila time). He was 32.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Clark was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a Hyundai Sonata at a "notoriously dangerous" intersection in the 2600 block of North Western Avenue.

After the incident, Clark was rushed to the Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m., the Chicago Fire Department and the Cook County medical examiner’s office told the news outfit. Authorities said the 20-year-old woman who hit Clark was issued several citations.

Following Clark's death, actor Jack Black, who portrayed the role of Dewey Finn in the beloved musical comedy, paid tribute to the late musician by posting some of their photos on Instagram.

“Devastating news," Black wrote. "Kevin is gone. Way too soon. Beautiful soul. So many great memories. Heartbroken. Sending love to his family and the whole school of rock community.”

Clark, who played Freddy Jones a.k.a. "Spazzy McGee" in the 2003 movie alongside Black, started playing drums at a young age by "hitting pots and pans in the basement," according to his mother.

“He loved music. He’s just a raw talent. He’s got a heart of gold,” Allison Clark said.

Although he didn't pursue his acting career after his stint in School of Rock, Clark remained a musician and formed several bands including his latest group Jess Bess and the Intentions.

“They were unbelievably fantastic and they would’ve gone somewhere,” his mother said.

In 2013, Black and the rest of the cast reunited to mark the 10th anniversary of the film. Clark also went to see Black during the latter's Tenacious D concert in Chicago in 2018.
