'The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror XXXI' to premiere after Halloween
The annual Halloween special of The Simpsons has been delayed to November.
According an announcement posted on The Simpson's Twitter account, the special episode Treehouse of Horror XXXI which was supposed to air on FOX on Oct. 18 will now be aired on November 1st, after Halloween.

This year’s special takes on 2020 because “how bad could it be?” quips Homer. The special horror-themed episode parodies Toy Story, offers a frightening look at the 2020 election, and spoofs Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse by unleashing several Homers from different dimensions.
In response to an inquiry by a fan on Twitter, the network explained that the postponement was due to Game 7 of the National League Championship Series baseball.
This year marks the 30th Halloween-themed Treehouse of Horror special, a tradition that began in 1990, when The Simpsons was just on its second season. The adult animated series created by Matt Groening as a satirical depiction of American life is the longest-running American sitcom in terms of seasons and number of episodes.
The Treehouse of Horror specials usually consist of three separate, self-contained segments that find the Simpson family in some horror, science fiction, or supernatural setting, which take place outside the show's normal continuity.
Earlier this month it was confirmed that season 31 of The Simpsons would be arriving on Disney Plus in November.
After a landmark deal with 21st Century Fox, The Simpsons have found a new home in Disney. The 22-episode season 31 is set to premiere on Nov. 6 on the streaming platform, dropping in one go and joining over 600 episodes of the animated series already available on Disney Plus. Celebrity guests who lent their voices to the latest season include Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Pose star Billy Porter and Aquaman actor Jason Momoa.
Disney Plus is also launching a new "Simpsons Forever" campaign to celebrate the long-running show and pop culture fixture. As part of that campaign, Disney Plus will be curating collections of episodes for new viewers to discover, and highlighting favorite episodes in line with current events and trends each month.
This Halloween season is the perfect time to catch up on The Simpsons Horror collection, which includes 30 Treehouse of Horror episodes from the past three decades now live in their streaming library.
Viewers can also find other episodic themed collections with recurring themes including the family going on trips, sports-related antics and “The Simpsons Predicts” which contains the frequently surprising predictions that the show has made, including Disney buying 20th Century Fox and Donald Trump becoming president.
