Friendship goals: Sunshine Dizon reunites with Iza Calzado and Karylle for the first time since ABS-CBN transfer
Sunshine Dizon reunited with her Encantadia co-stars Iza Calzado and Karylle on Monday, June 14, to the delight of the fans of their GMA-7 fantasy show.
Iza and Karylle surprised Sunshine while she was a guest of the ABS-CBN morning show Magandang Buhay. This is the first time the three appeared on an ABS-CBN show together following Sunshine's transfer to the network in April.
The three actresses, with Diana Zubiri, played the sisters in the 2005 fantasy show Encantadia. Ever since their show ended, fans have been clamoring for the four to do a reunion project—which they have already done in the 2019 iFlix movie Mystified.
Still, with three of the "sang'gre" sisters now with ABS-CBN, fans await if there's a chance they could appear in the same project together.
Of course, the three commemorated their meeting on social media.
"The warmest welcome for our newest Kapamilya, our dearest sister," Iza said.
"Welcoming committee kami ni (Iza) for sistah (Sunshine)," Karylle said.
During the show, the three described Sunshine as a nurturing friend. "Gusto natin itinataas ang isa't isa and she's so, ipu-push ka niya. And just seeing her become a director recently doon sa poject namin, sabi ko 'ha' in your 30s puwede 'di ba to just take that big step and it was so natural to her. I guess inspiring as a friend," Karylle said.
"Ibibigay niya ang lahat. Pero kailangang ibigay muna sa sarili. Ganyan kami, ibibigay lahat. Pero natutunan siguro natin through time we really need to prioritize ourselves din. So 'yan si Sunshine, she is a ray of sunshine in our lives," Iza added.
