Matt Damon trolls Ben Affleck for lost 'Batman' role in charity video

Instagram just got funnier after childhood best buds turned Oscar-winning Hollywood A-listers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon exchanged hilarious jabs at each other as only friends can – all for the benefit of two charity organizations.

In a 95-second video uploaded by Affleck on Instagram, the duo swapped barbs at each other, poking fun at the other’s biggest roles: Batman and Jason Bourne, and highlighting the fact that other actors have gone on to take over.

The video begins with both actors inviting viewers to participate in their charity lottery via omaze.com/benandmatt, before Affleck interrupts Damon and asks his friend to “spice it up.”

Anything can be discussed at this lunch, including, as Damon says, "roles that we've played that maybe other people have played too, to winning effect."

Affleck steers the conversation to, “Hey, you’ve ever seen Jason Bourne, Batman?” before Damon counters with “Robert Pattinson’s coming?”

Affleck rebuts with “No, Jeremy Renner will be there.” To one up his co-star, Damon retaliates with a scathing “Pattinson took your job.”

Affleck famously portrayed Batman/Bruce Wayne in 2016's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017’s Justice League. He even planned to direct and star in a Batman solo film he co-wrote with Geoff Johns but backed off from directing, leaving the helm to director Matt Reeves. Ultimately, Affleck walked away from the Batman project entirely and Robert Pattinson was given the title role for the film set to release by March 2022.

Both Damon and Affleck are combining their star powers to raise money for chosen causes – Affleck’s Eastern Congo Initiative and Damon’s Water.org. Donors qualify for the lottery where a lucky winner bags an exclusive trip and lunch with the Hollywood actors in Los Angeles.
