The exclusive cover of Marvel Voices Identity #1, featuring the first appearance of the new Filipino-American Captain America, Arielle Agbayani is here.

Comic Odyssey shared images on social media today of the first ever variant cover edition featuring Arielle in action painted by Miguel Mercado.

The special 56-page Marvel comic also includes artwork for a short story by legendary creator Whilce Portacio, written by Alyssa Wong, and colored by Jay David Ramos. “Personal Heroes” features Wave, a Filipina superhero who can manipulate water, teaming up with Bishop to battle a massive water monster.

A shot of one of the comic book panels shared by Comic Odyssey shows Wave from Agents of Atlas inviting X-Men’s Bishop to share a meal of sinigang cooked by her lolo.

The Marvel Voices Identity comic series is an anthology series celebrating the greatest Asian super heroes and creators from across the Marvel Universe.

Some of the best Asian super heroes in comics are getting the spotlight in the special action-packed and heartfelt issue including Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, Jubilee, Silk, Jimmy Woo, Wave and more.

Marvel announced earlier this year that The United States of Captain America is celebrating the superhero's 80th anniversary with the limited series featuring a diverse cast of new heroes of Asian American/Pacific Islander descent.

Each story in Identity features a hero wrestling with different aspects of their culture and their own personal ties to it, with most taking up residence in New York.

Writer Alyssa Wong previously shared that she "wanted to write a Filipino-American girl" for the series.

"There just aren't very many of us in comics," she exclaimed. "I grew up without a Filipino-American community for the most part, so every time I see a Filipino character, I get excited. And getting to create one—a Captain America, even!—feels incredibly special," Wong said.

The exclusive Marvel Comic also includes brief definitions of what the word "identity" means to various creators of Asian and Pacific Islander heritage.
