It’s the second pandemic Christmas and for many families living in the metro, traveling by air or going home to their respective provinces is still not a possibility with the extra requirements and ongoing travel restrictions.

For those looking for a boost of Christmas cheer and taste of travel, Casa Santa Museum in Antipolo offers a quick and fun destination.

In case you haven't ever been there yet or are looking for a fun Christmas-themed spot to take the kids, here are five reasons to visit Casa Santa this year.

It’s very near Manila

Casa Santa Museum is located in Antipolo, just a 30 to 45-minute drive from Metro Manila. You don’t have to travel far or spend a lot on gas or expensive toll fees to get here, making it an easy day tour for families in cars, motorcycle riders, and even cyclists, especially those based north of the metro.

Antipolo is a top weekend biking destination, and a visit here before or after you head to a coffee shop could make for a memorable Christmas ride with biker buddies.

Expect to spend an hour or so in this quaint museum that's perfect for the season with your closest family members and friends. And since you're already be visiting the area, you might as well make a day trip out of it and visit other tourist spots or dine in one of the many al fresco restaurants and cafes in Antipolo.

You can really soak in the Christmas spirit

Casa Santa Museum offers a destination where you can experience Christmas all year-round. This unique museum boasts of more than 3,700 Christmas and Santa Claus memorabilia collected from all over the world.

The facade of the house itself resembles a fairy tale Gingerbread house, while different nooks and photo spots in the house make it just perfect for those family pictorials.

Aside from Santa figurines, you can check out different themes of the nativity collected from all over the world. The Balay Belen lets guests reflect on “The Greatest Story Ever Told” through a unique and virtual tour that will take you around Christmas traditions around the world.

There’s also a magical, beautifully-lit miniature Christmas Village to admire.

Lots of fun themed rooms kids will enjoy

Casa Santa Museum houses several themed rooms that kids and geeks will enjoy. New sections include the Toy Factory, Casa Santa’s LEGO room, and The Grinch’s room.

Launched last December 2020, the Toy Factory section of the Casa Santa brings visitors up close to see Santa’s Elves in action as they make toys for little girls and boys.

Who doesn’t love LEGO? The Play Room houses a collection of various stuffed animals, Santa toys and a few Christmas-themed LEGO sets.

Another new area sure to delight film buffs is the Grinch’s room, designed from the 2000 film version of The Grinch, which was based on the children’s classic book How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss.

Safe and natural surroundings for kids and pets

The museum is located within a three-hectare space surrounded by vibrant and lush landscaped gardens. Casa Santa Museum can be found inside the garden events venue of Jardin de Miramar, a wedding and events space with landscaped gardens, which doubles as a lovely open air destination.

Aside from visiting the museum, kids can run around the grassy area under the trees, enjoy the nature trails, and check out the kid’s playground. The grounds contain a Noah’s Ark built from a former fishing boat and a kiddie feature called the Sylvana tree maze.

Visitors can also admire the public art installations and sculptures by award-winning Filipino artists that adorn the grounds.

The gated area of the events space offers a private and safe place for family, friends and even pets to enjoy. The museum is pet-friendly, so you can enjoy a fun day out and get those souvenir Christmas card photos with your furbabies.

After touring the museum, you can also enjoy some meryenda with their Meryenda Cena by Café Leona at Al Fresco dining.
