A new era of Wonder Woman is finally coming to the Philippines.

HBO announced on Wednesday (April 6) that Wonder Woman 1984 will make its Philippine debut on the streaming platform HBO GO on April 21, 2021.

The film starring Gal Gadot originally premiered on HBO Max in the U.S. on Christmas Day last year, after being postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fom director Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot in the title role, Wonder Woman 1984 takes viewers back in time to the 1980s, where the fate of the world is on the line once again, and only Wonder Woman can save it.  The film is a sequel to Wonder Woman which hit the big screens in 2017.

The latest chapter finds Diana riding lighting across the sky, donning wings of gold, and chasing a dream while in pursuit of two formidable foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.

The film also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as the Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta.

The release of the DC superhero film comes after the successful debut of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Go. The black and white version of the film dubbed Justice is Gray also recently premiered on the streamer in the Philippines.
