The first teaser trailer for the upcoming Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus has dropped, giving fans a first look at Ewan McGregor’s return as the exiled Jedi.

The limited series starts streaming May 25, 2022.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will pick up with the Jedi Master ten years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, the final installment in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, and third in the chronological chapter of the “Skywalker Saga.”

McGregor reprises his iconic role, which he portayed in the Star Wars prequel trilogy between 1999 and 2005.

Along with the new trailer released on Thursday (March 10), exclusive new images have also been released to hype Obi-Wan’s return.

Ewan McGregor graces the print cover of Entertainment Weekly magazine teasing the “rematch of the century.”

EW also provides exclusive first look photos at episodic images of McGregor as Kenobi, Joel Edgerton as Uncle Owen, and a fearsome new villain.

The last film saw Jedi Master Obi-Wan take refuge on the desolate planet of Tatooine, to hide from the Empire’s regime and to keep an eye on the infant Luke Skywalker.

Hayden Christensen is also set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Obi-Wan’s former apprentice, who was last left beaten and burning in lava.

Based on the new trailer, it looks like Obi-Wan’s time on Tatooine between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope will be anything but peaceful, as the show sets the stage for the ultimate Star Wars rematch.
