Love Black Mirror? Good news: The dystopian series has been renewed for another season.

According to an exclusive report by Variety, the hit show's seventh installment is expected to start production later this year—with Charlie Brooker, Annabel Jones, and Jessica Rhoades returning as its executive producers.

Further details, including its plot, number of episodes, cast, and release date, are yet to be announced.

The previous season of Black Mirror premiered in June this year, four years after a hiatus. It consists of five episodes starring Salma Hayek, Aaron Paul, Annie Murphy, Josh Hartnett, and Paapa Essiedu, among others.

The sixth installment revolved around Streamberry, a streaming service that "co-opt people's lives in real-time" to convert them into shows with the help of artificial intelligence

Brooker previously expressed his worry about recent technologies at a London rally in connection to the writers' strike, which raised concerns about low pay and the threat that comes with AI. "I worry for a living. It's generally what I do, and I'm very worried about AI and the use of ChatGPT and things like that," he said, calling it a "particular concern."

This multi-genre series is known for its dystopian themes that reflect modern life and possible future. It follows diverse topics, including AI, politics, social concerns, ethics issues, and more. In an previous interview, Brooker revealed he's looking into the possibility of delving into animation and musicals.

With its hit episodes, Black Mirror has received nods and accolades from prestigious award-giving bodies, including Emmy Awards, Black Reel Awards, and BAFTA Awards.
