BTS is PH telco Smart’s newest endorsers

South Korean boy band BTS is Smart Communication, Inc.'s newest international endorsers.

This was announced on Smart’s social media channels on Monday, Jan. 18. 

In the video released by Smart to introduce BTS as the company’s latest endorsers, the members of the band can be seen introducing themselves one by one before officially declaring: “Simple, Smart ako!”

“Aside from their remarkable talent, BTS emerged as the biggest band in the world because of their meaningful and uplifting music that brings hope and encouragement to fans especially in the bleakest of times,” Smart President and CEO Alfred Panlilio said in a statement. 

BTS debuted in June 2013 and is composed of RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook They have since become one of the biggest musical acts in the world today, Last year, the group received a Grammy Award nomination in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for their song “Dynamite.”

Rumors of Smart landing BTS as its endorses have been circulating since last yeart. 

Nonetheless, the initial reports—and the reaction to it—proved that there is clamor for the partnership. 

Smart Chief Executive Officer Manny V. Pangilinan teased the reveal of BTS as their endorser on Twitter earlier today. 

Pangilinan called it the "partnership of the year."
