What do 'forda' and 'ferson' mean, and where did the terms even come from?
Forda confused ang ferson on the latest internet lingo? We got you covered.
If you've been scrolling through social media the past few weeks, you might have noticed a number of people using the term "forda" and "ferson" to comment on certain situations or something as simple as their favorite things.
From "Forda gala" when going out to "Forda ghosted ang ferson" when discussing dating trends, it's certainly become a way of speaking that might have you confused, if not subtly cringing, if you don't know the context.
What does it mean?
Simply put, "forda" is shorthand for "for the", and "ferson" means, well, "person." The phrase basically means that someone is into a certain thing, classifying themselves as that type of person.
For example, you could call someone who enjoys a cup of joe as "forda coffee ang ferson." It's that simple, yet nuanced.
Where did it come from?
Like most internet trends nowadays, the answer usually comes from a little platform called TikTok.
TikTok user Chrishanna Luisa Olavidez Austria originated the meme when she posted a video of herself after drinking, and her candidness took over the Internet.
In the short clip dated shared on June 11, the flushed Chrishanna greets her followers as "mga ferson" before calling herself a "drunk girl." Just before she closes the video, she catches a glimpse of herself in full view and says "forda red girl."
Thus, the meme is born.

The video has since reached 21 million views and racked in over 1 million followers for Chrishanna.
But although the "forda red girl" brought the meme to new heights, the content creator has actually been coining "for the ____" way before the viral video. In her past TikTok clips, Chrishanna has been using the term since March of 2022.
Now, the trend has become a go-to internet slang, with netizens recently using the term for Bb. Pilipinas 2022 memes, and more.
