The third season of the Netflix animated action-adventure series Carmen Sandiego is set to premiere next month.

The Netflix series follows the modern day globetrotting exploits of a master thief who uses her skills for good voiced by Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) along with hacker support Player (voiced by Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard), and best friends Zack and Ivy. The titular character first made her debut in a series of educational mystery video games on desktop computers released in 1985. The Emmy-winning animated reboot serves as an origin story for everyone's favorite red-cloaked adventurer.

The first two seasons of Carmen Sandiego were full of international adventures, unexpected twists, cliffhangers, as well as educational elements thrown in for good measure. Viewers get to learn all about different destinations through geography, customs, famous natural and national monuments, population, and other trivia.

Season 2 saw Carmen seeking answers about her past, while V.I.L.E. attempted to keep their finances from plummeting even further into the red. The Faculty attempt to find a new fifth member as well. Thanks to Julia's encouragement, Carmen and the Chief make a loose alliance to take down V.I.L.E.

So what in the world can we expect from Season 3?

The trailer shows us how V.I.L.E. is working hard in trying to capture Carmen using "an impossible heist" as bait. The latest season will no doubt take our heroine around the world again, including to the Piazza San Marco in Venice. The trailer also introduces new villains Spin Kick (played by Dante Basco who voiced the popular antihero Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Fly Trap. "What, all the good code names were taken?" quips Carmen.

Will Carmen and her companions be able to pull things off? Or will V.I.L.E. finally get their hands on her? We'll find out soon enough.

Season 3 of Carmen Sandiego will air on Netflix on October 1.
