In case you weren’t able to watch Saving Sally when it first came out in theatres, now’s your chance to see it.

Rocketsheep Studio confirmed that the 2016 Filipino live-action animated film will be ”quietly coming to Netflix on October 15.”

“It should be available all across Asia [and] quite possibly Europe as they took our French subtitles,” the multi-awarded studio wrote. “I hope you folks watch our little film,” it added.

Saving Sally follows two high-school seniors: Sally (Rhian Ramos), a gadget inventor and Marty (Enzo Marcos), an amateur comic book artist.

The official Netflix synopsis reads: “A daydreaming comic book artist’s unrequited love for his best friend fuels his imagination, and his attempts to save her from her hellish home life.”

The film directed by Avid Liongoren took 10 years and several setbacks to complete. It officially landed in the local movie scene as one of the official entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in 2016.

Despite the positive critical reception, mainly for the film’s creativity, visual effects, and film score, the animated sci-fi/romance flick wasn’t widely shown in cinemas nationwide.

After showing in the Philippines, the film went on to tour around the world, receiving a couple of prestigious awards from international film festivals.
