Following the network transfer, new Kapamilya actor Lovi Poe is set to star in the local adaptation of the hit thriller romance Korean drama series Flower of Evil, alongside Kapamilya’s “Ultimate Heartthrob” Piolo Pascual.

ABS-CBN took to Instagram that they have “acquired the rights from content production companies CJ ENM CO., Ltd. and Studio Dragon Corporation” to produce the local adaptation of the hit K-drama series.

Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal first announced the news on Instagram shortly after the ABS-CBN contract signing of Poe and Pascual last Sept. 16.

Endrinal wrote, “Our lead stars for the forthcoming Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean Drama, Flower of Evil – Piolo Pascual & Lovi Poe. ?”

Prior to the contract signing, Poe thanked her former network, GMA, for believing and supporting her for the last 15 years in the network.

Meanwhile, Pascual renewed his contract with the network that same day. As per ABS-CBN’s report, the Ultimate Heartthrob said, “I said it before, I started with ABS and I said this, once a Kapamilya, you’re a Kapamilya forever. ‘Yung sa akin, it’s not my intention to leave or to go anywhere. I’m just siguro after being in ABS for 25 years, it’s also one way of returning the favor kasi ‘di ba they took care of me for so long so at least it’s time for me to give back the kabaitan and ‘yung opportunities na binigay sa akin through the years.”

Flower of Evil is the first project of Poe in ABS-CBN, and will also be her first time working with Pascual. As of this writing, no official information has been announced about other actors who will be part of the cast.

Flower of Evil follows the story of a man named Bak Hee Sung (played by Lee Joon Gi in the original version) who lives under another person’s identity and hides his cruel past from his wife, Cha Ji Won (played by Moon Chae Won), who is a detective. The suspense melodrama series can be streamed on Netflix.
