Nominees of the 2021 Melon Music Awards: BTS, TWICE, Aespa, EXO’s Baekhyun, BLACKPINK’s Rosé, and more

The nominees for the 2021 Melon Music Awards (MMA) are out. Artists who released music between Nov. 11, 2020, and Nov. 7, 2021, are eligible for this year’s awards. 

In a statement translated by Soompi, MMA 2021 announced that Top 10 awards will be based on streaming and downloads on Korean music platform Melon (80%) and fan votes (10%). Meanwhile, the Artist of the Year will be determined through download and streaming counts (60%), judges’ evaluations (20%), and fan votes (20%). The Album of the Year and Best Song of the Year will be based on the same criteria as well.

Meanwhile, the Netizen Popularity Award will be counted through download and streaming counts (40%) and fan votes (60%). The Record of the Year will be awarded based on the judges’ verdict and its overall performance on Melon. 

Fans can vote for their favorite artists at Melon’s official website.
