James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan will make his superhero debut in DC's Black Adam.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brosnan will portray the role of Doctor Fate alongside Dwayne Johnson's legendary antihero in the upcoming action-adventure superhero movie.

Brosnan is the final cast member to be included in the upcoming DC Extended Universe film, which will also mark the theatrical debut of the Justice Society of America, the predecessor of Superman's Justice League.

Previously announced cast members for Black Adam include Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone.

Created by Gardner Fox and Howard Sherman, Doctor Fate, also known as Kent Nelson, first appeared in 1940's More Fun Comics #5. Doctor Fate is a founding member of the Justice Society of America and among the most powerful sorcerers in the DC universe.

Black Adam will be the second New Line/DC movie after 2019's Shazam! The superhero film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who also helmed Johnson's Disney movie Jungle Cruise.

Apart from portraying the role of Agent 007 in the James Bond film franchise, Brosnan also appeared in several movies like Mrs. Doubtfire, The Thomas Crown Affair, Laws of Attraction, and Mamma Mia.

Black Adam is slated to begin production this April.
