Following the cancellation of E3 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ubisoft opted to hold its first virtual event dubbed Ubisoft Forward on Sunday to announce news and updates on its slate of upcoming games this year, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Watch Dogs: Legion and its own take on battle royale game Hyper Scape.

Here’s our roundup of some of the biggest announcements during the Ubisoft Forward:

FAR CRY 6

After an array of leaks last week, Ubisoft officially confirmed that the long-rumored Far Cry 6 will hit shelves on February 18, 2021. The new game in the franchise will feature The Mandalorian and Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito as President Anton Castillo, a brutal tyrant who rules over the tropical island of Yara.

Players will take the role of Dani Rojas, a freedom fighter who will start a revolution against the government of the fascist leader. During the presentation, Far Cry 6's trailer showed how Castillo leads his son to be his successor amid the turmoil and insurgency that is happening in the Cuban-inspired island.

Far Cry 6 will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA

Ubisoft announced that its Norse-themed game Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will launch on November 17, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and PC. During the digital event, Ubisoft showed off a 30-minute walkthrough of Valhalla’s gameplay, which includes a preview of how assaults, raids and various combats play out in the wide open region of East Anglia.

HYPER SCAPE

The studio’s battle royale game Hyper Scape will be available in open beta starting today. This means that Windows PC users across the globe can now test out their skills in the brand new fast-paced multiplayer shooter.

The open beta features a 30-tier battle pass that offers additional customization items including weapons and drop pods. Apart from the Squad Crown Crush, Hyper Scape’s open beta also features two additional limited game modes called Turbo Mode Squad and Hack Runner Squad.

WATCH DOGS: LEGION

Ubisoft announced that the third installment in the Watch Dog series is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and Windows PC on October 29. Watch Dogs: Legion takes place in a near-future version of London and unlike its predecessors, Legion allows players to recruit any NPC to become a playable character.

As players assume the role of a person who is tasked at rebuilding the hacktivist group called DedSec, Legion lets players build a group of 40 recruits with various skillsets that will help in overcoming different missions in the game.
