KZ Tandingan’s Disney song ‘Gabay’ is now on Spotify

Gabay, the first Filipino Disney track for the upcoming Southeast Asian-inspired epic adventure Raya and the Last Dragon dropped on Spotify on Friday (Mar. 5).

Disney Philippines tapped Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan to sing the first-ever Disney track in Filipino, which can now be heard on the music streaming site.

Gabay is a song about trust, strength, and unity, which KZ found inspiring when she read the lyrics for the first time. “I love that the song reminds us that sometimes we feel we are weak, especially when we are alone, but if we just learn to trust each other, to come together, and to unite, only then are we able to change the world,” she shared.

As the film was inspired by various Southeast Asian cultures, Disney Philippines' Studio Marketing head, Allie Benedicto said Gabay shows their commitment to work with local creative talents in telling stories in a local manner.

Here are the full lyrics for Gabay.

[Verse 1]
Bawat galaw ay ating pasya, kung lalaban o sasama
Pag-ibig ay kulay at tiwala'y tumatatag pag tunay

[Pre-Chorus]
May lakas na galing sa tubig, at sa puso mo'y mahika
Bibigyang dangal ang pamana, pag liwanag ang 'yong dala
Magkaisa nang tumibay, at di mahihiwalay
Tatatag wag lamang matakot

[Chorus]
Na subukan (At magtiwala tayong kanyang gabay)
Na subukan (At magtiwala tayong kanyang gabay)
Na subukan (At magtiwala tayong kanyang gabay)
Na subukan (At magtiwala tayong kanyang gabay)

[Verse 2]
Nasaktan man puso, dapat mong buksan
Sa pamilyang iyong kanlungan
Kahit may alitan, pag-aalangan
Pangamba at takot dapat tanggalin

[Pre-Chorus]
May lakas na galing sa tubig, at sa puso mo'y mahika
Bibigyang dangal ang pamana, pag liwanag ang 'yong dala
Magkaisa nang tumibay, at di mahihiwalay
Tatatag wag lamang matakot
