Gird your loins, Anne Hathaway is back on film as a hideous witch.

In an Instagram post, the actress posted a promotional video of her new movie The Witches, where she gave us a first look at her scary transformation from a lady with donning glamor to the terrifying Grand High Witch.

In HBO Max's newest fantasy comedy, Academy Award-winning Hathaway also reunites with Devil Wears Prada actor Stanley Tucci as Mr. Stringer.

The Witches is the second movie adaptation of Roald Dahl’s 1983 book of the same name, after the first one shown in 1990.

According to Deadline, it “follows a young boy who stumbles upon a secret coven of witches and, with the help of his loving grandmother, vies to stop their evil plan to turn all the world’s children into mice.”

The film, directed by Robert Zemeckis, boasts of a stellar cast in Hathaway, Tucci, Spencer, Kristin Chenoweth, Chris Rock, Jahzir Kadeem Bruno, and Codie-Lei Eastick. The screenplay was made by Zemeckis himself, along with Kenya Barris and Guillermo del Toro.

With the coronavirus pandemic impeding its theatrical release originally scheduled this month, The Witches is now set to show on HBO Max this October 22.
