'Goodbye for now:' K-Actor Kang Tae-oh shares military ready haircut ahead of enlistment

Extraordinary Attorney Woo actor Kang Tae-oh has bid farewell to his fans before his military enlistment. 

On his Instagram post, he shared photos of himself in a short haircut and a green hoodie penned with a short but sweet caption. 

“I thank everyone for their support and abundant love. I will return bravely. See you soon.” 

The post has garnered over a million likes and more than 25 thousand comments wishing him a safe military service.  

Some of those who commented are several K-stars such as Ahn Bo Hyun who wrote “Return safely” with the salute emoji, as well as his Run On co-star and Girls’ Generation member, Sooyoung saying “Chestnut, return well!!!” which she refers to his new hair. 

Kang Tae-oh will officially enlist today, September 20 without any special events. 

According to his agency, Man of Creation, he will enter the 37th division recruit training center located in Jeungpyeong County of North Chungcheong Province and will receive basic training for four weeks. 

He will serve as an active duty soldier for 18 months and is expected to discharge on March 19, 2024. 

The actor has gained global popularity in his heartwarming portrayal of Lee Jun Ho, the male lead in the South Korean hit legal drama series Extraordinary Attorney Woo which was confirmed to have another season in 2024 retaining the original cast members and crew. 

According to Soompi, Kang has finished a thriller movie with Shin Hye-sun entitled Target which will be released during his military service. No final date has been announced. 

Aside from his popular Netflix series, Tae-oh made his debut as part of the actor group 5urprise under Fantagio and appeared in the web series, After School: Lucky or Not; K-dramas such as The Tale of Nokdu, Run On and Doom at Your Service. 

Last month, his co-stars from the drama, Run On, organized a small reunion and farewell party for his military enlistment sharing cute and playful photos and interactions on the ‘gram.
