Alodia Gosiengfiao, Christopher Quimbo's 'bigatin' wedding sponsors earn amusement from netizens

When Alodia Gosiengfiao and Christopher Quimbo tied the knot on Valentine's Day, it came as no surprise that their special day was attended by some of the cosplay queen's fellow vloggers such as Cong TV, Camille Co, and Laureen Uy.

But in a new series of snaps published by the bride on her Facebook account, it's revealed that her wedding was also graced by some of the Philippines' biggest (not to mention, richest) individuals in the world of entertainment, business, and politics.

In a group picture, the newlywed couple could be seen posing with their "bigatin" principal sponsors such as doctor to the stars Vicki Belo and her husband Hayden Kho. Also in the picture are Sen. Cynthia Villar and her businessman husband and former politician Manny Villar.

Prominent figures in the business realm such as Hans Sy of SM Investments, and Robina Gokongwei-Pe of Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. also posed and smiled for the picture with the couple. Others include Telesuccess Productions Chairman and CEO Larry Chan and Peggy Chan, philanthropist Caroline Sy, and lawyer Perry Pe.

As Alodia and Christian's godparents are known to have come from the more prosperous side of society, many netizens shared their amused reactions at their choice of sponsors, with some joking about the gifts that the couple may have received from them.

"Wedding gifts reveal," said one netizen.

"Rice cooker or electric fan din po ba gifts nila?" one user wrote on the post.

"Mahihiya ka talagang magregalo ng baso pag ganito," another one quipped.

Others joked, "Wedding gifts: 1 Earth, 1 Mars, 54 stars, 17 spaceships."

"grabe... principal sponsors that can tilt the Philippine economy..." wrote another.

One netizen hilariously edited a picture of the social hierarchy pyramid and put Alodia and Christopher's sponsors at the top, referred to as "naghaharing-uri."

Aside from the group picture, Alodia also posted other highlights and moments from her wedding, such as when they shared a romantic dance on the stage and when they connected their hearts with a kiss.

Alodia first announced her engagement to Christopher in July last year, just four months after they started dating. The two first sparked dating rumors when she shared a photo of her making a heart sign with Christopher during a vacation in El Nido, Palawan in April. This came five months after she confirmed her breakup with fellow YouTuber Wil Dasovich, who she has been with for four years.
