Lara Quigaman aired her frustration over a netizen who commented about waiting for her longtime marriage to fail like what happened to other celebrity couples.

On Wednesday, June 8, the beauty queen uploaded an Instagram post with photos of her and her husband, Marco Alcaraz, along with a caption that quoted a netizen's comment in her previous Facebook post on "asawa" tips.

The comment reads, "Hintay lang kayo, next year, hiwalay na din kayo."

“Recently, ang daming balita ng hiwalayan, away, etc. Nakakalungkot pero mas nakakalungkot na maraming tao are making memes and jokes out of it and what’s worse, others pa are waiting for other relationships to fail,” she began her IG post.

Lara revealed that Marco turned emotional in both their weddings. “Sa unang kasal pa nga namin sa Vancover, humagulgol siya. Does that mean – maghihiwalay kami dahil lang umiyak ang asawa ko sa kasal namin? And are some people really waiting and hoping for that to happen?”

She was referring to remarks about the likes of Aljur Abrenica, Jason Hernandez, and King Badger, who all cried in their wedding ceremonies and ended up with failed relationships.

Acknowledging how marriage is no easy feat, Lara mused about how God continues to be at the center of their love. “We always pray and ask God to cover our relationship, we pray that we will never be complacent and think we are alright when we are not. We are not perfect and we know that there will be temptations and challenges all the time and we can only rely on God's grace to keep us from falling and failing,” she mused.

She also shared an uplifting message for those who are dealing with marital problems at the moment: “God is gracious, give your frustrations and heartaches to Him. Nothing is too broken for Him to restore and make whole again, nothing too impossible for Him to fix. Seek him, cry out to Him. He answers.”

Referring to the shoes she included in her Instagram carousel, which are situated on the Danube Promenade as “a memorial for the Jews who were shot and whose bodies were thrown into the river” during the Second World War, she said that seeing them “made it easier to imagine what those people went through and I can only pray it never happens to anyone again.”

“With all these news of loss and break-ups, let us be kinder, let us put ourselves in their shoes and imagine what it would be like- if people made a joke out of our heartache?” she concluded.

Lara and Marco had a civil wedding in Canada in 2011 and tied the knot again in the Philippines a year later.

The celebrity couple shares three children: Noah, Tobias, and Moses.
