Pretends to be shocked: Chris Evans is People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive
Captain America, dog dad, and overall unproblematic king Chris Evans has been named People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive of 2022.
The annual honor presented by the magazine sees the star taking the crown after fellow Marvel actor Paul Rudd in 2021. And while the world can agree, there's one fan in particular whom Evans looks forward to sharing the news.
"My mom will be so happy," he shared in the cover story of the magazine's November issue. "She's proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about."
"This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about," he quipped to PEOPLE's Kara Warner. "It feels like a weird form of humble bragging...Really this will just be a point of bullying."
"It's ripe for harassment," he added.
At 41, Evans has played a multitude of characters that have both warmed audiences and made them swoon. As for the future, he shared with PEOPLE that he's looking to settle down in all aspects of life.
"That's absolutely something I want," he shared of marriage, while stating that the most enjoyable part of his present career is being able to "take my foot off the gas" and choose the roles he wants.
"I feel like I have a bit more freedom to take time away from the industry and still find projects that will satisfy my creative appetite when I return," he shared.
Meanwhile, Evans' most recent role in the Grey Man sees him step back from being one of Earth's mightiest heroes, as he portrays a psychopathic villain named Lloyd Hansen.
While his career sees him take on new challenges with each role, the recent Sexiest Man Alive accolade has Evans thinking of his future "old and saggy" self: "It's something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say 'I remember then," he shared.
"I'm lucky to be in the discussion in any capacity."
