Selena Gomez is a famous advocate of mental health, as seen not only on her social media posts but more so when she built her own multimedia company, Wondermind, which produces mental health resources, in April this year.

Now, the Lose You To Love Me star is aiming to raise more awareness of mental health with her upcoming Apple TV+ documentary titled My Mind and Me.

In honor of World Mental Health Day, Gomez shared the teaser trailer for her new featurette last Oct. 10, which will give viewers a glimpse into the “highs, lows, and everything in between" of Selena’s life over the last six years – including her journey and battle with lupus, anxiety, and depression.

The trailer shows the 30-year-old actress saying, "My whole life since I was a kid I’ve been working. I don’t want to be like super famous, but I do know that if I’m here I have to use that for good."

She is also seen asking herself, “How do I learn to breathe my own breath again?” as she reflects on how to win over her battles. “Everything that I’ve been through, it’s gonna be there. I’m just making it my friend now. I am happier and I’m in control of my emotions and thoughts more than I have ever been” Selena shared.

The trailer also includes a preview of Gomez's upcoming song, an emotional ballad, with the lyrics “My mind and me. We don’t get along sometimes, and it gets hard to breathe but I wouldn’t change my life. […] If somebody sees me like this then they won’t feel alone.”

Over the years, Gomez is one of the notable persons in the industry who always use her voice to support people who deal with mental health struggles and is an advocate to fight mental health stigma. In 2019, the singer and actress received the 2019 McLean Award for Mental Health Advocacy in recognition of her efforts to raise awareness of mental health concerns.

Her My Mind and Me documentary film was directed and produced by Alek Keshishian and will premiere on Apple TV+ on November 4.
