Jason Hernandez dismisses rumors he has a new girlfriend: 'I am technically still married'
Jason Marvin Hernandez, the estranged husband of singer Moira Dela Torre, on June 3 dismissed rumors that he already has a new girlfriend following the release of his new music video last May 25.
In Ikaw Pa Rin, Hernandez himself starred in the video alongside a mystery woman, who he was posting about weeks leading to its release. In one of the photos he posted, the mystery woman is seen wrapping her arms around him, fueling speculations that Hernandez already found a new love.
But Hernandez set the record straight.
"Hi, for some people this has been clarified already but I want it to also come from me: the girl in the music video is not my girlfriend," he said on Instagram Story, as he posted a photo of them together.
“Her name is Sumaya McEvoy, a friend from El Nido who was game enough to shoot the vid."
Hernandez pointed out that he doesn't have a girlfriend because he's "technically still married."
"[O]f course I won’t have one while my annulment has not been finalized yet," he added.
Dela Torre and Hernandez exchanged wedding vows on Jan. 8, 2019, two years since they became a couple in February 2017.
In May 2022, Hernandez announced "with a heavy heart" that he and Dela Torre are "parting ways" and admitted to being "unfaithful to her during their marriage."
