Media icons and former co-hosts Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda have reunited in California.

In her latest Instagram update on Friday, Oct. 27, the Queen of all Media shared photos of what she described as a “heartwarming reunion” with Boy, one of her closest friends in and outside showbiz.

Kris went on to share how Boy became so emotional while they talked about her treatment journey for her multiple autoimmune diseases.

“Boy freaked because I needed a shot while he was here. And he really hates needles,” she began.

“Nagkwento pa lang ako ng pinagdadaanan kong mga treatment at yung at least 18 pieces of vitamins, supplements, as well as medicine to help prevent my migraines and protect my liver because of my chemotherapy and of course my antihistamines… parang the whole 3 hours [B]oy was here, he was stopping himself from crying pero bumigay din sya talaga,” she added.

“Boy never asked for anything pero sa laki ng utang na loob namin sa kanya, (the entire time he managed me for my endorsements as long as it was with my sons his commission was only from my 50%, buong buo for my 2 yung talent fee- lugi nga ako kasi yung 32-35% na tax sagot ko, bilin yun ng mom),” she narrated.

“Happy Birthday (Oct 29) to the keeper of all my secrets, the one who assured me that come what may he’ll be there for my sons, and the friend who until now fights my battles with me,” she wrote. “To my other brother, I love you completely. #lovelovelove”

Spontaneous interview with KMJS

Kris also mentioned that she was able to give an impromptu interview with veteran broadcast journalist Jessica Soho, with Vice Gov. Mark Leviste as her cameraman and her youngest son Bimby asking the questions.

“And with my sincerest apology to [Jessica Soho] who is also in town, and had asked if it was possible to give her an interview—it was all impromptu using just my iPhone with [Mark Leviste] being our cameraman & [B]imb asking the questions,” she said.

She also shared that she would spend the upcoming Christmas with Mark and his kids, especially since it was also the same day as his birthday.

“Maraming salamat sa mga Batangueño sa pagpapahiram ng inyong vice governor. But in a few days babalik na sya sa [Philippines] at sa Pasko, kasama ng 3 anak nya na kaming lahat magsasama. (Christmas is also his birthday),” Kris shared.

A much-awaited reunion

Fans and celebrities, including KC Concepcion and Bianca Manalo, celebrated the touching reunion.

“I love seeing this and you both! [Boy Abunda] It was [an] honor to be able to share the stage together with the two of you for a moment in time in my career…♥️ praying for you,” KC wrote.

“This is [Love],” host Bianca wrote, with multiple heart emojis.

Kris has been staying in the United States since June of last year to get treatment after being diagnosed with several autoimmune diseases.

In 2007, Kris and Boy hosted the morning talk and lifestyle show of ABS-CBN Boy & Kris. The show aired its final episode on February 13, 2009.

The two reunited again for a primetime entertainment news program called Aquino & Abunda Tonight in 2014. It was canceled after a year when Kris announced her departure from the show.

Rumors of a falling out between the two circulated after Kris left the show, but Boy said in an interview last December that they are in good terms.

"The friendship is not perfect (pero) wala kaming problema ni Kris," he told Jessica Soho.

"Nabawasan lang ay 'yung pagkikita naming personal. May mga debate kami tungkol sa mga bagay-bagay, but walang nabago," he added.
