‘Maraming pasabog’: Shamcey Supsup says upcoming Miss Universe Philippines tilt will be their ‘biggest pageant ever’

Miss Universe Philippines national director Shamcey Supsup said that the upcoming competition will be the organization’s “biggest pageant ever.”

“First of all, it’s going to be our biggest pageant ever because in the past two years—the first year, we have no audience, the second year, we have limited audience, and then now, finally, yung previous namin na plan na sa MOA Arena, on the third year siya mangyayari,” the third-runner up at the Miss Universe 2011 said in an interview with Philstar.com

She then expressed her happiness and excitement over the 2022 tilt. “We’re really happy and hopefully, patuloy na yung pagbaba ng cases so we can accept more audiences. Talagang big pageant siya. Maraming pasabog,” she continued, noting that three Miss Universe titleholders will host the pageant, namely Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Iris Mittenaere (2016), and Demi Leigh Nel-Peters Tebow (2017).

Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu, meanwhile, will be present at the coronation night.

“Syempre, pinaghandaan talaga namin. Sa moment na we can be back to normal, lahat ng two years na hindi namin naibigay, ibibigay namin this year,” added Supsup.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2022 is slated for April 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena. Ticket prices range from P950 (General Admission) to P13,500 (VIP Premium).
