Kris Aquino reveals illness is now ‘life-threatening,’ asks the public to refrain from making rude remarks

Kris Aquino has appealed to the public to refrain from making disrespectful remarks as she shared that her illness is now “life-threatening.”

In an Instagram post on Monday, May 16, the Queen of All Media shared the news on her social media account.

“I’ve always been proud of my honesty & courage. Ginusto ko na maka lipad sana ng tahimik pero utang ko po sa mga nag darasal na gumanda ang aking kalusugan ang mag THANK YOU & to tell the TRUTH,” she wrote.

The actress has been diagnosed with three autoimmune diseases: chronic spontaneous urticaria, autoimmune thyroiditis, and vasculitis, which was discovered by a pathologist in the United States. “To be very specific – late stage 3 of Churg Strauss Syndrome now also known as EGPA,” she said.

Chronic spontaneous urticaria is a term that causes hives that “come and go unexpectedly.” It may be associated with “a more serious condition or allergic reaction like anaphylaxis,” according to WebMD.

Autoimmune thyroiditis is a condition that arises when “your body makes antibodies that attack your thyroid by mistake.” This disease is linked to an inflamed thyroid.

The Churg-Strauss Syndrome, meanwhile, “is a disorder marked by blood vessel inflammation.” According to Mayo Clinic, this “can restrict blood flow to organs and tissues, sometimes permanently damaging them.” It’s also known as “eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis.”

Kris said that her team of doctors in the Philippines and abroad are worried about organ damage in her heart and lungs. “Kaya lahat ng paraan sinubukan for me to get to Houston soonest. Yung gamot that God willing can help save me doesn’t have FDA approval here or in Singapore & isasabay na po mag infuse ng chemotherapy as my immunosuppressant. Why? Allergic po ako sa lahat ng steroids,” explained the TV host.

She then appealed to the public to leave her profile out of the rude and hurtful comments amid these trying times. “Not for my sake, pero for my 2 sons, 1 in the autism spectrum & 1 only 15- kung balak nyo pong mambastos or mag comment ng masakit o masama, sa mga sarili nyo na lang pong IG, FB, or chat group sana gawin,” she said.

“Hindi nyo po ako kailangan gustuhin para magpakatao. Please don’t punish kuya & bimb for being my sons. Hindi po masama ang maglakas ng loob at magsabi ng sobrang bigat na katotohanan,” she continued.

Kris revealed in late April that she'll be staying abroad for over a year for her medical tests and procedures.
