Following months-long rumors, American rap legend Snoop Dogg has finally confirmed that he and K-pop sensation BTS are working on a collaboration.

"It’s official like a referee with a whistle," Snoop Dogg told local outlet The A.V. Club on March 25. "I make good music. They make good music. And we end up doing this. This is what it’s always about, bringing our worlds together.”

Last January, the rapper revealed in the Mogul Talk podcast that BTS had requested to do a collaboration with him.

“I got a group named BTS that’s waiting on me to do a song with them right now," he said. "And I’m trying to figure out if I got time to do that s**t.”

Snoop Dogg said he had to ask his nephew about the group, as he's apparently unaware of them.

"(My nephew) showed me five motherf***ers who look like the Asian New Edition," he told the hosts. "I said, 'Okay.'”

BTS, meanwhile, is a fan of Snoop Dogg, even referencing his 1993 album Doggystyle in their song Hip Hop Phile. Member RM also worked with Snoop Dogg's frequent collaborator and contemporary Warren G in his 2015 single P.D.D., when he was still known as Rap Monster.

This isn't the first time that Snoop Dogg has worked with Korean idols. He has previously collaborated with the likes of Girls Generation, 2NE1, PSY, and MONSTA X.

By the same token, BTS has collaborated with several Western acts, including Coldplay, The Chainsmokers, Halsey, Megan Thee Stallion, and Lauv.
